The Men's 'Block'

Captain Scott made sure that the men and the officers were separated within the hut. (They even had separate toilets!). This separation was probably because of Scott's background in the Royal Navy. He planned his expedition with naval class standards, where he was the leader and everyone had a rank.

These images depict the Minecraft version of the men's area where William Lashly (Chief Stoker), Thomas Clissold (Cook), Edgar Evans (Petty Officer), Thomas Crean (Petty Officer), Robert Forde (Petty Officer), Patrick Keohane (Petty Officer) Frederick Hooper (Petty Officer), and Dimitri Geroff (Dog Driver), would sleep, eat, and live.

This area was smaller than the officer's area of the hut. Because the men weren't scientific staff they did not need as much space.

The men would help with any jobs. This even included sewing up broken sleeping bags!

Thomas Clissold was the cook for the expedition. They would often eat food they found in the Antarctic, such as seals. They also had available, tea, cocoa, and sugar.

They would often have special meals for birthdays and holidays, such as Christmas (Scott, 2004).
