The Science 'Block'

There were many science staff who joined the expedition. This was not only a journey to the South Pole. They were there to study the animals, terrain, and weather.

Below are the bunks belonging to Charles Wright (Physicist) and George Simpson (Meteorologist). Behind here are the desks and equipment the men would use whilst working.

This area was sometimes called 'The Palace'. It doesn't seem like much of a palace to us, but in reality, the men were able to get more privacy than others in this area.

These bunks belonged to Edward Nelson (Biologist) and Bernard Day (Motor Engineer)

This area was home to Frank Debenham (Geologist), Tryggve Gran (Ski Expert), and Thomas Griffith Taylor (Geologist). This area is where they would sleep and work! We can't represent size easily in Minecraft, but all three men would sit around one table, using the bottom bunk as a seat.

Here we can see they actually had a piano in the hut! This served as entertainment for the men and also a divider for their sleeping area. This shows us that these men used music for entertainment, much like we do now!
